Question Unanswered: row delimiter in IMPORT/LOAD !?!?

    Hi ,
We are migrating from SYBASE to UDB DB2 .
When we are trying to migrate data we had some issues of ROW Delimiter.

In sybase when i do bcp out i can mention ROW delimiter.
Where i don't see any proper option for ROW delimiter in UDB.

I used "delprioritychar" But still we faced issues it's not working 100% like sybase ROW delimiter.

I will apperciate if some one gives response.

    Thanks ,
    Sreeni.

    Hi Sreeni,

I'm not sure if I understood your problem correctly, but if you got problems with delimiters using the db2 import try something like this:

import from filename.del of del modified by chardel'' coldel; insert into schema.tabname

This will work i.e. on import files of that kind:
    'blah';'blubber';123.45;'xyz'

You'll get additional information on this page:

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

If your input file has fixed length records you could use the ASC format with the reclen modifier. Otherwise, I'm afraid you're out of luck; you should replace newlines in the table data with something else during the export.

"It does not work" is not a valid problem statement.
