Question Unanswered: View is slow after upgrade to SQL 2k

    Hi all,

Last week we upgraded our SQL server to 2k (don't ask why we wait that long B-)), we have new, much more powerful machine with tons of memory, runs on Windows 2003, and everything BUT one view is running noticeable faster.

On the old machine (SQL 7.0 SP4) this view, that reads from several other views - bad design, but we do not have time to modify it yet, returns dataset in about 4 minutes. On the new server (SQL 2k SP3a) it runs for about 30 minutes!!!

Does anyone have idea why it is that slow on SQL 2k and reasonable fast on the old one?

    Thank you in advance,

    Marin

    Just to share with others,

The solution is: run UPDATE STATISTICS WITH FULLSCAN on all tables

    Cheers, Marin
