    Talking Unanswered: Import data between forms

    I have 2 forms that have the same field. They are both used for entering new records.
    There is a button on the first form. When I select this button, it opens the new form, but all the fields are blank.
    I was wondering if there is any way that when I select the button, it could automatically insert the current value of that field on the 1st form to the 2nd form, while leaving everything else blank.

    If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Erin

    The data on the first form is i assume populating a table. Run an append query that takes this data and add to the table that the other form is looking at.

    You can run the query when you click the button to open the new form.

    Hope this helps

    Try using VBA when you click the button. (on-click-event)

    private sub button_click
    ...

    'something in this style should already be there
    '(automatically generated by Access)
    docmd.OpenForm acForm, "OtherFromsName"

    'insert this line to copy the value
    forms![OtherFormsName]![DestinationField]=me.SourceField.value

    ...
    end sub
