Unanswered: Talking to DB2 using ASP

    Hi All

I'm just starting with ASP and need to connect to a remote DB2 database. I am running Windows Server 2003. Will I need to purchase Host Integration Server to accomplish this? I would prefer to use a DSN-less connection...

    hi nitric,
Where is your DB2 database located (what platform) and what OLE DB provider are you using? Connecting to DB2 is very dependent on the platform where the database is located and the mechanism used to connect.

I am not lucky enough to have HIServer where I work, but I just use the OLE DB drivers that come with IBM's Client Access. I installed the drivers on the intranet server, and from there, I pretty much just connect to the 400 like any other datasource. And it's dsnless. I don't have the connection string that I use since I'm at home, but I believe there's a DB2 one at www.connectionstrings.com.
