Unanswered: sql 7.0 & XP / NT: error returning

    Hi there,

    I have a question...

I have a sql 7.0 database and I am running vb software on 2 different client machines:

one is NT4, the other is Windows XP.

When I run my application on the NT machine and sql reports an error (for example due to an incorrect SQL statement), the application stops and shows an error message.

When I run the same application on the XP machine, the error is ignored and it seems that it is not returned to the client.

Does this sound familiar to you? Any idea where to start looking (mdac/odbc/ ???)

    thanks!

What is the error message, refer to sql error log and event viewer for more information.

If you're using ODBC DataSource it's most likely coming from different configuration. Also, you can turn on client statistics. You can also run a profiler against your XP client. But the best would be to post the error and send the piece of code from the client that causes the error in the first place.
