    Post Unanswered: SQL 7 script

I would like to write a script that takes a tilde delimited file and imports it into a new database that can then be queried and such.

The end goal is to run this script at a certain time of the day.

    TIA!

Do you want somebody to write it for you?
Well, look into command line BCP utility in BOL.

Not really. I should explain a bit more as I was a bit tired when I posted.

I don't have any experience writing scripts for SQL. This is a favor for a guy that has his own company, and doesn't have any experience as well.

So, I would like some direction as to where to start. In my mind, this shouldn't be too difficult. I understand the basic concepts of databases but do not know where to start with the scripting, including commands, syntax, etc.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, BOL is a great point to start. Check BCP utility using format file.
