    Unanswered: Disappearing Data in Subform

I have a subform embedded within a form. After entering in my data into the subform and clicking on to another part of the main form, the data within the the subform disappears. The data, however, does get recorded into the subform table and you see it within datasheet view, but you can no longer see it in form view.

    Any suggestions?

    Thx!

    sounds like some propert setting

go to the design of the subform and show the propertysheet

    goto the data tab
    is dataentry set to yes?

if so - set it to no and set allow additions to yes

also if this is not the case
please list the data property settings for
    allowedits
    allowdeletes
    allowadditions

    thank you

    -dataentry - no

    -allowedit - yes

    -allowdeletes - yes

    -allowadditions - yes

    Baffling...

can you zip up the form, any underlying queries and the tables (with limited data) so I may take a look.

this just does not sound logical - you say that after you enter data in the subform and change focus to main form (same master record) that you can no longer see the data in the subform?

Are there any ONCurrent events of the main form?

I attached the whole file - if you could take a look at it, and let me know what you think - it would be greatly appreciated! I am at an impasse with this right now - and am not sure what to do next...

    Thanks!

I downloaded your db and it is working with my ms access 2000. I can add records to any subform without any 'strange' behaviour.

Probably I'm doing something wrong. I mean: am I in the incriminated form?

Add a tax map number to a new record in the MasterFile Form. When you begin to input data within a filed on the main form, the tax map number will disappear from the viewable area, though it gets recorded into the underlying table...

I suppose the problem is because the main form and the 'tax form' have different data origin. There are two different queries for the two forms. I tried to put

    -dataentry - Yes

    and works.

I think you should create another main form just for new data entry.

That's all I can think about for the moment.

Ok - the project ID IS not being added to all og\f the MAppings

Key ID Project ID Tax Map #
    1745 54545454
    1746 200-000-0-0000
    1747 200-000-0-0000
    1748 222-222-2-2222
    1749 123-456-7-8999

as these records indicate from the Tax Map Parcel Numbers table
I added the last two my self

    Here is why

the tax map subgorm only uses Tax map number for its record source
you need to add the project id in the recordsource (as that is the linking data to the main form)

also include that field in the design of the subform

I did this and it works flawlessly

I did what you suggested, but the tax map numbers still disappear when I begin to type information into the fields of the main form...

Thanks much for spending time with this...

It was working as you had it set up - but when I erased the test records in their respective tables - and went to add my own records - the same problem keeps occuring...

Is there a certain order in which I need to enter data within the form?

How were you getting it to work with the data you had entered?
