    Exclamation Unanswered: Running .SQL Files

    I am having problems running a .sql file using mysql.

    I have the mysql prompt open and I am running this command per the mySQL manaul

    mysql> source deletes.sql
    mysql> source .\deletes.sql

    The file is in the c:\apache\mysql\data\dcmpare Directory which is where the dcmpare tables are located.

    what am I doing wrong?

    my .SQL file looks like this

    Delete from system_new;
    Delete from system_Old;

    I keep getting a failed to open file error. Please let me know what I am doing wrong here. Thanks

    Try putting deletes.sql in the mysql/bin directory (or) give the full path "c:\apache\mysql\data\dcmpare\deletes.sql".

    ps: not sure about the double-quotes. Please check the manual.
