    Unanswered: Export says "read only"

All of my databases are saying I can't export because the object is "read only". I have checked and the database is "NOT" read only. I can add tables, make changes, etc. I just can't export. Has anyone experienced this and knows what the fix might be?

What are you trying to export? Forms? Tables?

if you want to export a table or a query and want to export it as mdb, you have to export it to an existing mdb. If this mdb is read only you can't export the table or query.

Try to export a table in rtf. This will create a brand new file. If this works, check your export file format.

I want to export to Excel file.

I little background. This started happening after we installed on some users machines a "read-only" version of access. I did not install on my PC, but it was after this was done that all my databases started getting this problem.

And as I said in the opening post the database is NOT - NOT - I say again NOT ready only.

    Can you feel my frustration?

I tried to simulate the problem without success. I put my db in read only mode and tried to export. Everything worked perfectly. So the read only problem is not related to the origin (your db) but the destination. If the file you're trying to export is marked as read only you won't be able to export.

That's all I can say for now.
