    Question Unanswered: BCP EXEC Access violation - code c0000005

    Help!! I have an intermittent problem with some BCP code.

    The code basically read in a load of interval files from a directory and bulk copies them to the database.
    The code works fine usually but on one site intermittently I get a crash. When I open the user.dmp generated by Dr.Watson. I see the following:

    libsybdb!dbdoerrhandle+0x72
    libsybdb!sybseterr+0x12d
    libsybdb!bcp__insert+0x56d
    libsybdb!bcp_exec+0xfa
    nihdm!NIHDM_clBCPServer::exec+0x95
    nihdm!NIHDM_clBCPServer::bcpinExec+0x228

    So I can see the problem is happening on the exec call within libsybdb but I do not know why. Does anyone have any info. on how I might debug this further??

    If a crash like this happen and I catch the exception would it be better to restart the service then to continue and execute the next file.

    Any advice or information on this area greatly appreciated!!

    Regards

    GRIF

    I'd say apply the most recent Open Client EBF.

    Open Client EBF's are now distributed as part of Software Development Kit and are not available as part of normal ASE EBF's.

    Cheers,
