Unhappy Unanswered: Transaction Log backup failed

I use the maintenance plan on SQL Server7 to create a transaction log backup.

The backup doesn't work, and here is the log file of the Transaction backup:

Microsoft (R) SQLMaint Utility (Unicode), Version Logged on to SQL Server 'NT01' as 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' (trusted)
    Starting maintenance plan 'PLAN1' on 13/08/2003 01:00:02
Backup can not be performed on database 'BIE'. This sub task is ignored.

Deleting old text reports... 0 file(s) deleted.

End of maintenance plan 'PLAN1' on 13/08/2003 01:00:02
SQLMAINT.EXE Process Exit Code: 1 (Failed)

On the same server, I backup to other transactions log whithout problem.
Could you tell me why this one doesn't work.

Just a guess but do you know if the database is in select into/bulkcopy mode or truncate log on checkpoint?

I'm new in SQLServer database administration and I don't know how to see if the base is in BulkCopy or not.

In EM you can right click the database and choose properties, from there, it is the options tab. For 7.0 there are checkboxes, for 2000 there is a dropdown for recov mode and a checkbox.

This is a SQL Server 2000.
The Recovery model is set to SIMPLE for this base. It's probably means that like in BulkCopy model, the transaction log backup useless. The log file is truncate on checkpoint.

    Thank you for your help.
