    Unanswered: exporting to Excel

I know the max. number of records in an Excel 2000 sheet is 65536. But I heard the max. number of records you can output to Excel (using the OutputTo action in a macro) is far less. Is this correct?

If you are using Access 2k I think it takes the format of an excel97 sheet which has less rows then excel2k (?). The best thing would be to export it as a csv - in the past I've had formatting problems and strange characters appearing when exporting to excel so I always stick to csv.
