Unanswered: does ADO come with Access 2000 ?

    Hi,

I'm planning to upsize from Jet to Sql Server, and that requires the ADO libraries. My computer has both Access 2000 and Visual Basic 6.0. I certainly have ADO, but I am unable to tell whether it came with VB or Access. I will need to develop on another machine which has no VB.

The question is: if I only install Access 2000, do I get the ADO library ?

I don't want to introduce a dependency on VB, as I do the upsizing to Sql.Svr.

I don't have VB, but have Office XP with Access 10, and there is ADO, in fact, it is set as default library to use when connecting to data sources....

if I remember correct Access 2000 was the same way.....

ADO comes with different installations, beginning with WIndows, but also with Office and SQL Server. You shouldn't concern about that, ADO is downwards compatible.

I had to upsize my Access 2000 database to SQL Server, too, and I found the Upsize Wizard lacking a lot of essential fucntionality. So, I wrote a tool by myself; I propose to take a look at the ConversionTool.
