Hi everyone,
excuse me for my english...
I want to access an access97 database from Oracle.
I've configured the listenet.ora, tnsname.ora and I've created
the gateway file and my odbc connection.

My O.S. is Windows 2000
My Oracle version is 9i release 2

When I try to test the connection on SqlPlus I receive this message:

SQL> select * from tabla1@prueba1;
select * from tabla1@prueba1
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28545: error diagnosed by Net8 when connecting to an agent
NCRO: Failed to make RSLV connection
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from PRUEBA1

I used the tnsping utility and the test is successful:

********************************
C:\>tnsping db1

TNS Ping Utility for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.0.1.3.1 - Production on 13-AUG-20

Copyright (c) 1997 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

Used parameter files:
C:\iDS\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
C:\iDS\network\admin\tnsnames.ora

Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST = vperalta-8v0cqv)(PORT = 1521))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = db1)) (H
S = OK))
OK (390 msec)

I don't know why the listener read the parameters
files in the iDS directory.I would expect the listener take them
from the OracleHome\network\admin

I've made the changes in this files for defining the connection string.

if I check out my listener.log I found this:

*********************************************
13-AUG-2003 23:09:06 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=db1)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=3704) ) * establish * db1 * 12500
TNS-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process
TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directory
