    Unanswered: java UDF problem in db2 8.1 linux

    hi

    OS - suselinux 7.1
    DB -- IBM DB2 8.1

    java udf was wrritten and tried to execute in the linux server (shown below)

    we copied java class file to $HOME/sqllib/function folder and register it.

    CREATE FUNCTION LEAST(varchar(4000),varchar(4000)) RETURNS varchar(4000) EXTERNAL NAME 'UDFJ!LEAST' LANGUAGE java PARAMETER STYLE db2general DETERMINISTIC FENCED NOT NULL CALL NO SQL NO EXTERNAL ACTION NO SCRATCHPAD NO FINAL CALL ALLOW PARALLEL NO DBINFO

    we try to execute the query and got the error

    db2 ==> select least('1','2') from sysibm.sysdummy1

    SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred. SQLSTATE=58004

    can you please help us to solve this problem

    Unexpected system error is a very generic message ..

    Check the db2diag.log to for details .. If there isn't any, change the diaglevel to 4 and test

    Cheers
