    Post Unanswered: db2as start problem

    O/S : AIX 4.3
    UDB : V7.2

We just upgraded our database from v5 to 7 but now when starting admin instance we get this error:

SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred. SQLSTATE=58004

Any idea, what could cause this and how to fix it?

    Re: db2as start problem

Well, I figured out the problem. We didn't stop the threads used by db2as, so once we killed them then we were able to start the db2as instance.

    ipclean

You might also try using the ipclean and ipcrm unix commands if you ever have problems killing runaway db2 problems when you DAS or DB2 instance hangs. We have had to do this in the past such as after installing fixpaks when a DAS hangs or when the instance update has problems.
