I hope this is simple stuff for you gurus, I'm just a lowly solutions engineer. I need an SQL statement that will update a field in a single record when multiple records match the condition. Something (like 'top one') has to limit the number of records updated to 1. It would be something like this... update tablename set field1 = 'X' where field1 = '' and field2 <> ''
This would update multiple records if they exist, how do I hit just 1 (any) record? I'm working with VBA, I have an ODBC module that has a 'max rows' property but I'm pretty certain that just limits the records returned on a select. Thanks, Drew W.
