    Unanswered: About oracle SID

I forgot my SID for one of my database instances......

Is there any method for me to find it out? for example, to list all available SID?

    Thanks

On an UNIX server enter the following command

    #ps -ef | grep smon

will give you all SMON background processes with the SID names
    included.
How to retrieve this info on WINDOWS I'm not sure, but
I think that if you choose the services in the controlpanel you will get
a list of (among others) all Oracle processes; one of them will be your
    instance
