Unanswered: Problems setting query criteria from a linked table

    Here's an interesting problem...maybe
I am using A2002 as an interim method to display equipment that is in stock and available for use. This feature is not yet available in the software that we currently use. So what we've done is created linked tables in Access to the ODCB and then created a query off of that. What we would like to do create some sort of interface which prompts the user for the model number then runs a wild card query off of that model number. I've approached this a couple of ways, I've tried using the model number as a parameter in the criteria of the query but wasn't able to run wild card searches off of it, it just outputted the entire query. My other approach was to create a search form which I coded the SQL statement to use for a browse form, but this only worked for queries off of nonlinked tables. So that's my dilemma...any ideas? Thanks in advance.
