    Unhappy Unanswered: 2 Databases ?

hey folks, heres my problem, any ideas are welcome:
i have a database on a remote server. i dont have any data access pages and i dont want to write them
so for now we edit the database locally and upload the whole thing to the web server, but if someone accesses the web page during this upload time the whole thing crashes, so is there some way i could duplicate the database under another name, upload it to the server, and automatically copy everything to the original database? or is there an easier way?
    thanks in advance,
    jonah

why do you edit it remotely?

why not lock the db or change it to single user mode or something of that sort?

    Post its on the web

    thanks for your reply.
the problem is that we need our database accessable online at all times so that our customers can see our web pages. we edit it locally and upload it because its on the web-hosting server and i dont think we can edit it remotely on thier server. basically we need to do this with no down time.
    any thoughts?
