Exclamation Unanswered: Access97 -> SQL Server Table Locking Level

Hey all! Anyone know how you can prevent an Access97 query from locking tables its linked to with ODBC? We have found that setting the lock level in the Access database properties seems to only be effective with Access tables and not linked tables.

Upgrading Access is not an option at this time.
    -thanks in advance
When in doubt just ask your self,

Re: Access97 -> SQL Server Table Locking Level

In case anyone is interested, I did some research and testing and found the following works:

For registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\3.5\Engi nes\ODBC] you can change the [SnapshotOnly] key to 01. This could be clunky to roll out, so we are doing it with vbs in login scripts for those users we want to lock down.
