    Unanswered: strangest problem updating

k I spent all of yesterday testing, tearing apart and redoing relationships in my system to figure out why my form will not allow for an update by macro on button click. Its rather random and I am wondering if anyone has had this occur.

    1. My main form allows for record edit
    2. My current vendor button does an append if data isnt in the current tables or an update if it is and prevents bad entries.
    3. My proposed vendor subform does the same as 2.

    Problem...
I narrowed this down the fact that the database will not allow for more than one update on the record by use of the code or even a plain old access macro. It doesnt work with delete query first then update either. It seems to think its being edited by two different users.

In a nutshell...I cannot do an update on the record but it does allow for selection/update by way of combo box which seems odd. Unfortunately that is extremely slow because there are so many records. Is there a way to code a textbox and button but have them function like a combo box...as far as sending the selection to the field?

If you need to see the code so far let me know.
