Unanswered: Pivot Table - Too Many Row or Column Items

Pivot Table - Too Many Row or Column Items

I'm getting this error when trying to display 4 row fields with my one data element...

Microsoft Excel cannot make this change because there are too many row or column items. Drag at least one row or column field off the PivotTable, or to page position. Alternatively, right click a field, and then click Hide or Hide Levels on the shortcut menu.

    Basically my fields are...

Accts / Vendor / Description / Transaction Number

I can have three of those but not four on my Pivot.
    Data Element is Amounts

I can take out Description and add numerous other fields.
Is there a limitation on the size of a field, I tried truncating the description field and it didn't help. I have plenty of RAM so I don't think its a memory issue but maybe its an Excel limitation.

If you have any ideas please let me know.

    Thanks.

The data section had 6000 rows in it. I cut it down to 3000 and I'm able to show four columns in the pivot. It is looking like its a data limitation in Excel.
