    Unanswered: Help with Oracle 'System User'

    I need to make a simple update in a table, but the user does not have sufficient privilige. I can log in as the system user, but I don't know the syntax to update this user table. Help please?

    I suppose that I could increase that user's privilige but that seems a little drastic for what I want to do.

    Thanks in advance,

    Neal.

    Never mind.

    I couldn't update the table because it wasn't a table at all. It is a sequence.

    Know you solved it, but the answer to your original question would be to use the fully qualified name if the user/schema name is "doej" then it would be
    UPDATE DOEJ.TABLEA
    SET COL1 = 'XX'
    WHERE COL1='YY';
