Unanswered: Is textbox entry in a table?

My minds gone blank - can't cope with new coffee machine AND access.

I have a simple form with a textbox and button.
How do I check to see if the value entered in the textbox, is an entry in a particular field in a table?

(and now to figure out how to get HOT water out of this thing....)
    Thank you,
    James

Your textbox will only make changes in a table if it is bound to a field in that table, or bound to a field in a query based on the table. Otherwise, you will have to use code to get the textbox info to a field in the table.

How are you doing with the coffee maker?

Well as I'm the only one in the office who's discovered it's secret button combination menu and set it for very hot water, I'm fine. As we all know it's knowledge like that that gives one REAL office power.

As for Access - time to hire a junior I think.
