    Question Unanswered: Explain plan error

    Hi All,

Following error message was reported by DB2 while using explain plan,

DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a
valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
SQL0220N The Explain table "BDW81INS.EXPLAIN_INSTANCE", column
"EXPLAIN_OPTION" does not have the proper definition or is missing.

    The statement issued was,

explain plan set queryno = 1 for select count(*) from table1

Could anybody give some pointers on this....

You have probably damaged some explain tables. Maybe you are accessing the database from different version of db2 clients.

Drop the explain tables and recreate it with EXLPLAIN.DDL (this file is in SQLLIB\misc directory).

Please give more info about your system and please read Must Read before posting for more tips about how to ask efficient question.

    Hope this helps,
