I recently realized that all of my tables are in native OS400 physical and logical file formats as opposed to standard DB2/SQL formats. This is undoubtedly because we had originally planned to use software from our existing ERP provider that was RPG/COBOL based and ran directly on the AS400. However, we ended up using the upgraded version that using the AS400 as only batch and DB.
Unfortunately, our tables were not upgraded prior to going-live (4 years ago) and are still in native OS400 file formats (which I know nothing about)
Can someone explain what the difference is between native OS400 formats physical and logical files) and standard DB2 for AS400 formats?
