Unanswered: How DB2 handles ZPARM's that aren't specified

Need help to appease the auditors, in finding something that documents how DB2 V6 for OS/390 handles ZPARM's that may not be specified.

I would tend to think that the default would be used, but after thoroughly going over the init parms section of the install guide, I came away with the thought that could it be possible if you don't specify a init parm, you don't get anything at all.

Can anyone please clarify this for me?

    Thanks,
    Scott Abell

Using the BMC Catalog Manager tool, which supports a command to display DSNZPARMS. Comparing the values from the display to the default values in the install guide, I would say that DB2 does use the default if you don't specify it.

The BMC tool reads the DSNZPARM trace record, not the ZPARM dataset.
