    Unanswered: "anywhere in the field"

    I have a statement in my vb prog. as

    "DoCmd.OpenReport "LoanTrack", acViewPreview, , "[logs]![loanno] = foms!loantran!text5"

    Here "loanno" is the 'field name' and "text5" is the 'variable used in the form'. Now, if I enter the complete loanno, it works great. But if I enter a "PART OF THE LOAN NUMBER", report comes out w/o any record.

    Is there anyway I could check even a part of the field value?

    Earliest help would be highly appreciated...

    Do u mean like;
    "DoCmd.OpenReport "LoanTrack", acViewPreview, , "[logs]![loanno] = foms!loantran!text5 & '*'" ?

    Well, that didn't work!! (Thanx though)...

    Any other way to do it?
