    Unanswered: stored procedures wont compile on AIX 5.2

    I am getting errors compiling stored procedures on DB2 UDB 7.2 EE 32 bit with FP6 installed running on AIX 5.2L 32 bit operating system. The following errors occur:

    create stored procedure returns -7032
    SQL0060W The C precompiler is in progress
    SQL0091W Precompilation or binding was ended with "0" errors and warnings

    #!/bin/sh
    PATH=$PATH:/usr/vac/bin
    PATH=$PATH:/usr/vac/bin
    export PATH

    SQLROUTINE_FILENAME=P0710110
    export SQLROUTINE_FILENAME
    export SQLROUTINE_ENTRY=pgsjmp

    xlC -l/home/db2inst1/sqllib/function/routine/sqlproc/P0710110.exp *** pgsjmp

    xlC: 1501-224 fatal error in /usr/vac/exe/xlcentry: signal 11 received

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    SQL7032N SQL procedure "" not created. Diagnostic file is "".

    changes rolled back
    build failed.

    How do I resolve these failures so that I can compile DB2 stored procedures? We recently upgraded AIX from AIX 4.3.3 32 bit O/S to
    AIX 5.2L 32 bit O/S version and now cannot compile stored procedures.
    Thanks!

    It's possible that you need a new version of xlc. You should ask your admins if the installed xlc compatible with 5.2

    You can try using gcc(It works for me, AIX 5.2L)

    db2set DB2_SQLROUTINE_COMPILE_COMMAND="gcc -g -I/home/test32/sqllib/include SQLROUTINE_FILENAME.c -o SQLROUTINE_FILENAME -L/home/test32/sqllib/lib -ldb2 -shared"

    thanks working on it

    Thanks, I checked out the issue with IBM DB2 and AIX support and found that the problem is the C++ compiler needs to be patched and upgraded. Our unix admin is working this hopefully should resolve the problem.
