Friends,

I'm running perl script on Linux.
In the Perl script, I'm searching for a file in a directory. Once we find the file in that directory we are taking that for our process system. But if file is not there, I want to send a message 'File Not Found' to user to his mail id, say(user1@xyz.com).

I have to send messages only, I'm not going to check any messages. So i'm using Net:MTP module.

Now my question is: What configurations I have to define on the server. Any protocol set up should be done on the Linux server for mailing service?

Here, I'm defining the Sample Code:

use Net:MTP;
# some code for file existance checking
if
{------
---------
-------
}

#if file not exist in the folder
else
{
print "File $master not found\n";
&sendMail("aditya_db\@yahoo.com","Can't open master file $master ");
}

Note: I'm not going to attach any file to the mail. So I'm not using MIME::Lite;

So, please guide me in configurations or instals that I have to do on the server. Any protocol set up is needed on the Linux server for mailing service?
