Unanswered: automaticly fill in data in column from other table

I have two tables that must share the same RefID, in the first table this is an Auto generated primary Key, the second Table this is a primary key but not auto generated. the only way the users will get access to the two tables for editing is through a form I am working on. Is there any way to have the autogenerated RefID forced into the text box for the other REfID or even do it in the background so users don't get confused

In the form you can make a text box for the ID (but have in not visible) then in default value, use the value of the ID from the other table. Thats how I do it in any of my databases. Not to sure of anyother way. But it works and the user has no idea.
