Unanswered: Help a SQL Server DBA

We have a Standlone Sybase 11.3 Server running for a long time...and NO Sybase DBAs to maintain. I have been doing Regular Maintenance and backup stuff on it but Yesterday I received the following error

"(-2006) CtLib (Server): 'Can't allocate space for object 'temp worktable' in database 'tempdb' because 'system' segment is full/has no free extents. If you ran out of space in syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE or sp_extendsegment to increase size of the segment.' (Number=1105, Severity=17)"

I Suspect that Tempdb ran out of space . Please provide me some help on it . If I have to increase the size of tempdb , what should be the commands. I hope I am not asking for too much.

    Thanks

    Thanks

I tried that but I guess I didn't ask the right question. To avoid this to reoccur , I would like to add more space on Syssegments . Is there any command for it ?

    Thanks
