Unanswered: wildcards from from in query

I have a coworker with a form that has a text box. What he wants to happen is to enter any number in the text box (e.g. "110"), and have that be referenced in a query, that uses that "110" as part of a wild card expression to find all reference numbers with those 3 numbers in that order anywhere in the reference numbers.

With his current expression, it's returning nothing.

This is the current expression he has in the query:

    like "*[forms]![openingform]![txtrefnum]*"

Is there a way to concatenate the wild card expression and tie it in with the text box?

Right now, if he types in the query criteria area like "*110*", the query actually returns the correct data.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance,

    He's close.

    Try this instead:
    "*" & [forms]![openingform]![txtrefnum] & "*"
