    Talking Unanswered: SQL - Oracle

    I'm hitting a large Oracle database. I would like to extract the average from the middle 85 percentile of data (kick out the highs and lows). Any help would be great. The only way I know to do this is by pulling all the data down and sorting. This is too painful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Craig

    I think you can use Analytic Functions as

    RANK, RATIO_TO_REPORT, DENSE_RANK

    in a Query to select your data
