Unanswered: Writing SQLS taking input from command prompt

Is it possible to write SQLS ( either from the db2 comman line prompt or from the DB2 command Centre ) which will prompt the user to give inputs to the query from the console - if so how ?

I am not sure about staright SQL but normally I write shell program which asks user for inputs required and then embed those variables into the query written as part of the shell script.

    Thanks for your response.
