    Unanswered: Updatable Query ERROR

I am trying to insert a row in an Access Table
Here is the code I am using:

    Set Con1 = Server.CreateObject( "ADODB.Connection" )
    Con1.Open "accessDSN"

    ' Add Report
    IF addreport <> "" THEN

sqlString = "insert into tReport values ('patil','2','10 OCT 2003','Subject','Report')"

But everytime I get following error mssg.

    Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.

    Can anybody help me

    Re: Updatable Query ERROR

    Some ideas...maybe you've tried them...
Have you tried setting the connection object's mode before opening it?

Also, my docs say the connect string should be "DSN=accessDSN" rather than just the DSN name but I'm not sure it matters. It would depend on the driver and I show that working for OLEDB for ODBC.

Also, tReport is not a "linked" table is it? If so, you may want to delete it then reLink it making sure you specify the correct KEY fields.

Also I don't see the code where you ran the query - using a recordset or just connection.execute?
