Unanswered: Access myqsl database from Dreamweaver

Hi, I am using dreamweaver to create a webpage(JSP) so that users can access the mysql database. I am using Tomcat as the server. However, when i try to access the database from dreamweaver, i get an error message. It doesnt seem to be able to connect to the database. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

    Rgds,
    Melissa

The error message i get when i use the mysql driver on the testing server is as follows:

A server timeout has occured. Possible reasons:
    1. Please make sure web server is up & running
    2. Please verify that the ODBC DSN exists on the testing server.

I am not sure what could be wrong. Do you have any idea?

    Dreamweaver and MySQL

It looks like you may be using an ODBC connect string, but you are writing a JSP with Tomcat, so shouldn't you use JDBC?

    They are very different.

I'm getting exactly the same error.

the strange thing is I'm not using ODBC - i'm trying to connect to mysql using php.

its the strangest thing. And unfortunately I cant find any info on this error.
