    Unanswered: Data from Proximity card readers

    I need to capture data from prox card readers into Access. Any suggestions?

    What version of Access? and how are the proximity cards attached to your computer?

    It will be the latest version of Access or Access 2000. The connection for the readers is part of the question. It may be via RS232 or RS485.

    Ok, for Access 2002 there is an activeX object that will do this via a RS232 port. Scommdll There is even code posted in the manual on how to do it.

    The best thing about this is it's price.

    For Access 2000 the developer version includes MSComm which is also capable of communication via a serial port.
