Unanswered: New user installing personal edition 8.1

I downloaded db2 personal edition 8.1 for windows yesterday.

I ran the install shield, giving myself the username & password of 'db2admin'.

Everything seemed installed correctly. I then tried to run the 'first steps' tutorial, and the first step is to automatically install the sample database.... but it does not let me do this erroring on username/password. I then decided to just try from the command line so typed

    'db2cmd'

    'db2'

    'create database ias'

but no joy... still erroring on username/password

What simple step have I missed??????

    Hi,

UserID must exist on Windows, because the security of DB2 product is "integrated" with Windows security. Have you defined the db2admin user at Windows? I suggest you to define the db2admin as Windows Administrator user.

    Hope this helps,
