Question Unanswered: Error reporting trough e-mail

    Hi.
If (hm...when) a error occur in my application I would like to send a e-mail direct to supprt@vestigo.no without starting Outlook. (equivalent to the one MS use to report Bill's bugs)
I could of course use FTP and transferee the error message as a text file to a server and pick up the error messages frequently. But it would me more elegant to send the message as an e-mail.
I would appreciate any proposal for smart solutions.

    Thanks Vestígő

    Hi Vestígő!

Look for SendObject in Access help.

    You can use:

    On Error Goto Err_Error
    .
    .
    .
    Err_Error:
DoCmd.SendObject [objecttype][, objectname][, outputformat][, to][, cc][, bcc][, subject][, messagetext][, editmessage][, templatefile]

    Thanks.

I have already tried this and it function OK, … but it use Outlook.
Maybe it's not possible to send e-mail without going trough an e-mail system.
I will go for your proposal unless someone else has other smart solutions.

    regards
    Vestígő
