    Question Unanswered: how to start mysql in linux 8.0

    I have installed Mysql in redhat linux 8.0 OS,
    but i don't know how to start it there,
    please guide me, thanks

    try this:

    /etc/init.d/mysql start

    Yep... you might need root to do it though, so if you do use the following:

    su -c '/etc/init.d/mysql start'

    also it might be "mysqld" and not "mysql" (d is for daemon)
