    Exclamation Unanswered: Visual Basic & IDS 9.3

    I have Visual Basic 6.0 and IDS 9.3 running on Windows XP.

    I use Informix ODBC driver 3.34 for DSN. I can connect to the database, but when I want to execute a SELECT statement, the whole thing hangs.. but if the SELECT statement has a syntax error, my program is able to trap the error mesage. The "program hang" problem only occurs when the SELECT statement is correct.

    Can anyone please help me on this? I've been trying to troubleshoot this since 2 weeks ago...

    Update :
    Finally.... found the solution... I changed the whole connection string.. Here's the example ..

    strConnection = "Data Source=dbname@dbserver;User ID=username;Password=informix"

    With connAdo
    .Provider = "ifxoledbc"
    .ConnectionString = strConnection
    .CursorLocation = adUseServer
    End With

    So, no more using DSN.
