    Unhappy Unanswered: Sybase DirectConnect

We are using Sybase DirectConnect 12 to connect from Sybase (on Sun Solaris) to SQL Server 2000. We poll every minute for new records on the SQL Server side and if they exist we insert them into a table on Sybase for processing.

We receive various errors from this connection. Sometimes it randomly disconnects, sometimes we get cursor errors from the internal cursor that Sybase creates when a select * is used against the proxy. The DBA's usually drop and recreate the connection several times. Finally it works with no answer as to why the problems occured.

Has anyone had similar issues? If so, is there any resolution?

    Re: Sybase DirectConnect

Are you using the "INSERT INTO LOCAL-ASE-TABLE SELECT FROM PROXY TABLE" command?

If so, check out this link.

Must apply DirectConnect Anywhere 12.50.03 fix in CR 293667
