Unhappy Unanswered: Not going to DB2 prompt from UNIX

    Hi,

I'm having DB2 installed in UNIX AIX V4.0. When i type db2 , it is neither going to db2 prompt nor giving any error message. It doesn't respond to any database commands including db2 connect. This happens in the /run directory where i was supposed to enter into db2.
    Please help me out......

    Thanks in advance!

    Rathore

Check if the DB2 environment variables are set. Try

    env | grep DB2

    - you should have at least DB2COMM and DB2INSTANCE set. If not, execute db2profile script, which you can find in the instance's home directory under "sqllib" folder.

"It does not work" is not a valid problem statement.

Have you set your user profiles properly.

U need to add db2profile to your user profiles. The install document gives instructions for that can't remember the exact sequence.

    Hope this helps.

    Nitin.
