This might not be the correct forum, but the only place I experience the problem is in importing Excel data to Access.

Using the File/Get External Data/Import command and after selecting the file, the option to select "Worksheets" or "Name Ranges" is offered. When I select Name Ranges, the range names no longer in use appear with those that are current. When one of the old range names is displayed a message box also appears stating that "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find .... "

Deleting the names in Excel with the Insert/Name/Define/Delete command removes them from the list that is presented in Excel but does not remove them when Access is looking for them.

Does something need to be cleared or re-saved in a different way? Or what other method would work so that they don't show up in Access.

Thanks,

Michael
