Unanswered: Date last time table was accessed

    Hi gents,

Does anyone know what sys view should contain information (date) on the last time a table was accessed / updated??

    Thanks for any help,
    Breen.

I am pretty sure there is no way of getting the last accessed time (imagine the overhead on a heavily loaded OLTP system) and I have never found the last updated time either (though you could write a statement level trigger). You can get the last time a DDL statement was executed on the object in dba_objects. For monitoring number of updates/deletes and inserts look up dba_tab_modifications.

    Cheers Alan,

Turned on monitoring for the table and it works.

    Again, thanks,

    Hi,

I have a similar request, what were your steps to turn monitoring on for that table and also what is the SQL query where you received last_accessed timestamp?

    Much appreciated
