I am runing ORACLE 9i on a W2k maschine and try to connect to a created database via JDBC (ORACLE and ORANXO).
I have registered the oracle12.zip file (orranxo.jar) as classes, configured the drivers and set the reqiuired library in project properties.
Additional I have set the oranxo drive under Optiond/Driver in the data pilot.
When testing the appropriate connections (with the right URL's) I get
com.borland.dx.dataset.DataSetException: E/A-Exception: Connection refused(DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNUM=150999297)(ERR=1 2505)(ERROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=12505)(EMFI=4))))
for ORANXO driver
com.borland.dx.dataset.DataSetException: [OraDriver] Connection refused from server. Please check if the Oracle service 'JOGY_ORA' is running.
At the same time I can connect to ORACLE DB via Enterprise manager(on the same maschine), where is shown the Descriptor
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP) (HOST=w2000server)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERV ICE_NAME=JOGY_ORA)))
which is the right one from tnsnames.ora.
Further I can connect from the DB srver maschine via SQL + using the SID from tnsnames.ora, via SQL+ from a Windows 98 client and via ODBC from that client too.
Additional I have tested the JDBC connection to another W2000 based ORACLE9i installation, which works smoothly.
