    Unanswered: mysql tables getting corrupted?

I have installed Mysql 4.0 on Linux 9.0. It was working perfectly fine till now. Suddenly one of the tables is not allowing to write. While select statement works, 'analyze', 'repair', 'delete', 'insert' commands are not working. When I use these commands, it hangs. However I am able to do all the operations on other tables in the same database. Has anybody got any clue on this. Should I reinstall Mysql.

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards,

You do not need to reinstall your mysql server

If myisam check with --safe-recover do not work

you can dump your table into a text field

Drop the table and recreate it and import data into it

But before make a backup of your .MYI and .MYD files

    Thanks..problem solved

    Thanks for the help.
Finally managed to find out the problem. The hard disk was full and MySQL was not able to write anything. Now it is working fine after I created some space. I just stopped and started mysql again...running perfectly as before.
