    Arrow Unanswered: UDB Failover options

    O/S : AIX
    DBMS : DB2 UDB v7.2

    Hi guys:

We want one of DB2 UDB database to have 24/7 operation. Now my question is; what options we can use in case of failover e.g. replication or something like that etc.

    Thanks in advance.

    Question

Where can I find more info on HACMP (?)... I've worked with UDB before but have never heard of that product. Is it anything like clustering on SQL Server?

    Thank You!

I believe that HACMP can provide processor fall-over so that another node can use the same DB2 database. So long as you have hot swap RAID or AIX disk mirroring to handle disk failures, this could provide a solution. Check out discussion of HACMP in AIX and DB2 manuals.
